** Note that failure to follow submission guidelines will result in your poetry being overlooked for publication**
Poetry Submission Guidelines
There is no minimum line or page requirements that poems have to reach in order to be considered for publication, however, there is a maximum of 5 pages. If you would like to submit a poem longer than 5 pages please reach out to Isabelle at info@poetryundressed.com for further discussion about your submission. We also ask that poems be submitted with a 12 point font single spaced, double spacing will be taken as exposed lines in your poem. Please submit as a word, pages, google doc, or notepad document. Submissions as a PDF will NOT be considered, unless previously approved by our submission team. Poets are also able to submit a maximum of 3 poems per submission period. Please title your work and place your name on the paper, not just in the attachment name, so as not to have any mix ups or confusion on submissions. Please put the THEME of publication you are submitting for as your subject line. EX. TEXTURE 2023 You will also need to fill out the Publication contract found here, please download it and send it back fully completed in your submission email to submissions@poetryundressed.com . If you would like to be featured on the podcast please also fill out the Podcast contract found here and submit it with your other documents. Poets who have previously been published do NOT need to fill out the contract, simply state "I consent to publication and acknowledge that the work submitted is my own" in the body of your email. If you would also like to send in a little blurb about yourself at the end of your poem, i.e.. where you are from, how long you've been writing for, what inspires you, etc. please feel free to do so! Poetry Undressed is committed to offering fee-free submissions for all Poets. However, we do offer a 48 hours submission response for $3.00. Please be reminded that while poetry is an expression of self, and we want to create a safe space for all voices to be heard we will NOT tolerate hateful works of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc. *Poems that do not follow submission guidelines will not be read. If you are unable to meet the guideline requirements please give an explanation in the body of your submission email.*
Poems in all languages are encouraged to be sent in, however, please include an English translation with the submission.
Note: Not all poems submitted will be published. Only those who will be published will be sent a reply email letting them know that they have been chosen for that month’s publication as it may be difficult to contact everyone who submits. Just because you have not been chosen for that specific month does not mean you don’t have what it takes, we encourage you to always keep submitting and to keep writing!
