You’re As Guilty As I

You cleared your palms of sin
 Didn’t you?
 Your voice sounds like scripture
But you forget to stone my name next to yours
So I’m the one loving in vain
These are the gospels you’re spewing
And I’m being steered in lieu of being stirred
Tell me what I did today
And dig me a hole for me
 To betray my knees
For my hands to come together in your name
If you’re not going to tell me
 I’m not going to know
I thought there were incomprehensible walls
That prevented you from seeing me
That there’s no part of me you actually know
But you’re tracing me in verse
Clearer than I’ve ever seen myself
I thought I could tell you everything
 Yet here lies the stealth
 Questionable and bare
 You already know me
I can never take that back
It was never mine to begin with
