The bee in my bonnet

The room was caught ablaze and my heart swelled with ecstasy
Your permanent smile lit you up like a beacon
You sit next to me and I begin to palpitate
Dry mouthed and sweaty, your presence puts me in disarray

My God you’re so clueless
The turmoil you put me through
I’m a stuttering, stammering, stuporous sod
And you can’t even see that you’re the cause

But beyond that I see no flaws
You bright, brilliant, blazing brute
You’re a Shakespearean muse for a sonnet
You’re the bee in my bonnet!

But all this is laughable and I’m glad you don’t know
Like I could ever tell you the things you make me feel
Your eyes and your heart are all set on her
And me, being him, I’m the furthest you’d prefer
