Political Hellions

The things we do, the things we say, are they in our power?
We come into this world with no answers.
Yet, there’s laws on how to comply.
We are in someone else’s hands
And they bought the strings which pull the load of
Governance.
There’s no remorse for our fellow man
When it comes to power.
There’s certainly no humanity
When it comes to where we live anymore.
We’ve mistaken evolution as a ticket to
Neglect and disrepair our only realm.
We say we’re equal, but we’re not.
Those who lost themselves
In the midst of capital gain aren’t like us.
Their heart pumps on green and their morals
Are blinded by greed.
They’re compassion is ridiculed into a monstrous arrogance.
I’ll peacefully walk hand in hand into the darkness with my fellow man
While these blood sucking hellions
Continue to walk in our streets,
Continue to linger in our humility, and rob us of our spirits.
But out of the darkness we will succumb.
For only when we’re weak do we see our true strength.
We are resilient and will not play victim to foul play
And inhumanity forever.
