Writer’s Block

I know there are days
when the art in your veins
doesn't flow quite the same
as it did yesterday
and the thoughts in your brain
all seemed to fade

and I know there are times
where the worlds in your mind
are covered in grime
and the map, you can't find
and you can't seem to rhyme
no matter how hard you try

but storyteller don't stress
poet please don't forget
your tales need time to rest
to take a break from their quest
for they're at their best
when you have time to catch your breath

so when your veins run dry
and the threads are all tied
and nothing seems to shine
take a break, rest you mind
and don't worry writer, you'll find
you're way back there in time
