Recipe For a Poem

Step 1
line a pan
with wisdom wrapped in riddles 
set your oven to the temperature 
of thunder 

Step 2
Fill a small pot
with too many emotions and thoughts
it may overflow
but that's okay
simmer and stir until clear

Step 3
In a bowl 
add one part truth
and two parts lies
mix until you no longer know
which parts are which
then add a pinch
of stardust

Step 4
pour each mixture 
into your pan
then let stand
and cook until done
I can't tell you when that will be 
but trust me 
you'll know when it's time
to take it out

Step 5
let cool
if you want
or serve it up hot
on plates or in bowls
cut into squares or triangles
or just eat it straight out of the pan

and remember 
there are no real rules here
you don't have to follow a plan
just go with what tastes right
even if you think it's something
no one else will like
I promise
it will turn out alright
