From the LOVE TRIPTYCH
Indeed I know the face of love, so fair is she, a dame brought forth by Heaven’s hand, delightful so was it to see such rare and lovely eyes no god might comprehend. Twas twice at dawn at which I begged, “fair Love, so long was it since last I met a soul so warm and sweet, fair Love please send a dove so bright that I might find my love to hold.” And Love, oh mother of all that is gay, has heard mine cries of yearning and has sent for me a dove so white, ‘tis bright as day, its wings like ocean pearls by Love’s hand bent, ‘tis now by God this love my heart dost know and pray I must that dove not soon turn crow. - Ryan Lewis
