From the LOVE TRIPTYCH
In solitude, as recluse among thought
and fear, reluctantly I am put
Begrudged so but, in some recess, perhaps,
for want as such
Let it be true, by truest will of God, that I was
lonesome so,
For such is wholly true and yet, true
as the grave and true as all else
True as such is that I have met
a great Love
One so great, I might hope I am
held in favor of God
Such is a Love that, wonderful and gracious is
it, I may wish it not soon cease
Wickedly so, myself Venus has bless'd,
bless'd with Knowing
A blessing so evil of a sight so clear, of
a knowledge so true
That as I have known once before,
such a Love must die in youth
And once more I must, among thought
and fear, know myself alone
